Pershore is a beautiful Georgian town set in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside on the banks of the river Avon. Its history goes back to the Dark Ages, when in 1059 Edward the Confessor bestowed a Market Town Charter to the town on the steps of the old Abbey. Still a market town, it has many independent shops, a theatre, a RHS college, and is the home of the delicious yellow Pershore Plum.
